Dick Baxter began performing basic job related roofing
consulting services during an eight year term with
Owens-Corning Fiberglas, where he became the eastern
technical support representative and roofing products
manager for the firm. Mr. Baxter purchased CRS, Inc., a
roofing contracting firm, in 1977 and shortly thereafter was
in demand for his expertise by such firms as Burlington
Industries and Allied Stores. Mr. Baxter performed
consulting services for Burlington Industries at textile
plants in Italy and Ireland and has since completed
consulting work for Fiberglas of Colombia and General Motors
in Mexico. Mr. Baxter has become one of the foremost
recognized and respected figures in the roofing industry. He
is actively involved in the National Roofing Contractors
Association (NRCA), a faculty member of the Roofing Industry
Educational Institute (RIEI), and was a Technical Editor of
Contractor’s Guide magazine. Mr. Baxter has also provided
expert witness testimony in several high-profile,
multi-million dollar litigation cases.
Mr. Baxter is a prolific author, with several technical
manuals to his credit, and hard-hitting, timely trade
magazine articles that address controversial issues. Mr.
Baxter has authored "Application Techniques for Glass
Fiber Felts" for the NRCA, authored and presented
several articles for the International Symposium of Roofing
Technology, and authored trade magazine articles such as
"Applying Glass Fiber Roofing Felts", "Avoiding
Moisture and Displacement of Glass Fiber Felts", "Is
Roof Insulation Tough Enough?" (for Contractors Guide),
and "Applicators Must Adjust to Differences Among
Modified Bitumens" for Professional Roofing and/or
Contractor’s Guide magazine.
