Continuous exposure to water and humidity causes gradual
degradation of exterior finishes and exposed wall components
in addition to the unsightly staining of exterior
architectural surfaces. Moisture retained in porous mortar
joints, porous masonry materials and incomplete surfaces of
synthetic stucco supports the growth of algae, fungus and
mold. Growth of a microorganism in the porous surfaces will
eventually affect the structural performance of exterior
surfaces.
Cleaning of exterior surfaces, elimination of fungus and
mold and the application of a transparent or opaque sealant
will not only enhance the appearance of the facility by will
minimize insidious damage to exterior surfaces caused by
retention of moisture.
Some more porous masonry surfaces may require application
of special fillers prior to coating with finish
waterproofing and, depending on climatic and environmental
conditions, the application of heavy-solid coatings may be
necessary to protect exterior surfaces from continual
infiltration of moisture.
CRS, Inc. specializes in water management-control of
moisture from entering the interior or control of moisture
absorption by exterior finish surfaces.\
CRS, Inc. uses special nontoxic cleaning techniques to
remove stains, algae and accumulations of vegetation from
exterior surfaces. The type waterproofing coating best
suited for individual facility and exterior conditions are
selected and applied to protect exterior surfaces from the
effects of moisture retention.
In especially difficult applications, special fillers
and/or heavy-solid coatings may be selected and applied to
porous surfaces to provide a suitable and serviceable base
for the waterproofing components of the system.
The difference in the appearance of the facility
following cleaning and application of waterproofing sealants
can be dramatic, and insidious damage to the exterior
structural and finish surfaces is minimized. The longevity
of waterproofing coatings varies significantly. CRS, Inc.
applies only proven waterproofing sealants and coatings to
provide the maximum service life possible.
